STRENGTHENING GOVERNANCE, THE SUPREME COURT COMMENCES THE 2026 SPIP MATURITY SELF-ASSESSMENT
Jakarta – Public Relations: The Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia officially commenced a series of activities for the 2026 SPIP (Government Internal Control System) Maturity Self-Assessment. This initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to strengthening good governance through risk management and reinforcing the role of the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP). The event was held on Tuesday (28/4) in Jakarta.
The event was attended by the Acting Director of Supervision for Law Enforcement and Political Affairs of BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency), Edi Susanto, along with Echelon II officials within the Supreme Court. Secretaries of selected High Courts and First Instance Courts also participated virtually.
In his remarks, representing the Head of the Administrative Affairs Agency (BUA), the Head of the Bureau of Planning and Organization, Sahwan, S.H., M.H., stated that leadership involvement is the key factor in building a healthy supervisory ecosystem.
“Leadership involvement is a crucial element in creating a conducive supervisory environment,” said Sahwan while delivering the remarks of the Head of the Administrative Affairs Agency.
He explained that improving the SPIP assessment since 2023 has not been an easy task, as the judiciary continues to face various challenges.
“Efforts to improve the SPIP assessment from 2023 until now have encountered many challenges. However, the Supreme Court continues to take firm measures to instill a culture of supervision through the Supervision Information System (SIWAS) and the Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP),” he stated.
In 2026, the SPIP Maturity assessment will involve 33 selected work units as samples. The selection was based on ease of coordination access, compliance with SMAP implementation, and representation of 40% of the Supreme Court’s budget allocation.
The selected sample work units include:
* Registrar’s Office
* Directorate General of General Courts
* Directorate General of Religious Courts
* Directorate General of Military and Administrative Courts
* Administrative Affairs Agency
* Supervisory Agency
* Judicial Research, Development, Education and Training Agency (BSDK)
In addition, samples were also taken from High Courts and First Instance Courts across the four court jurisdictions in Indonesia, consisting of:
* 15 General Courts (6 Appellate Courts and 9 First Instance Courts)
* 11 Religious Courts (4 Appellate Courts and 7 First Instance Courts)
* 3 Military Courts (1 Appellate Military Court and 2 First Instance Military Courts)
* 4 Administrative Courts (1 Appellate Court and 3 First Instance Courts)
Meanwhile, the persons in charge are as follows:
* Planning: Bureau of Planning and Organization
* Finance: Bureau of Finance
* Asset Management: Bureau of Equipment
* Supervision: Supervisory Agency
In addition to the signing of the assessment plan, the event also included discussions with the BPKP team regarding the Area of Improvement (AOI) from last year’s SPIP assessment.
The discussion aimed to review the progress of revisions and ensure that follow-up measures are implemented effectively.
Through this integrated effort, the Supreme Court aims to strengthen its internal control system.
“It is expected that the strengthening of SPIP Maturity within the Supreme Court will achieve the highest level,” he concluded. (sk/ds/RS/Photo: zhd,end,ald/translation: azh
