THE SUPREME COURT SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH BKN
Jakarta – Public Relations: The Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia officially established a strategic collaboration with the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Human Resource (HR) management. This step represents a concrete effort to enhance human resource governance within both institutions.
The MoU was signed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Sunarto, and the Head of BKN, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, on Wednesday (April 15) at the 14th Floor of the Supreme Court Tower, Central Jakarta.
“The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is a strategic and visionary step to strengthen collaboration among state institutions, particularly in the management and development of human resources within both organizations,” said the Chief Justice prior to the signing ceremony.
He emphasized that this cooperation is crucial for the Supreme Court, as the quality of the judiciary is highly dependent on the quality of its human resources. Through synergy with BKN, the Court aims to obtain stronger support in reinforcing the merit system and ensuring more accountable career management.
“Judges and court personnel are not only required to possess technical competence, but also integrity, professionalism, and the ability to adapt to ongoing developments,” he explained.
Beyond technical improvements, this collaboration is expected to provide added value for both institutions by integrating national policies with the specific needs of the judiciary. It is also expected to produce professional and high-quality personnel.
“Public trust cannot be built instantly, it requires hard work, consistency, and commitment in delivering professional, integrity-driven, and service-oriented judicial personnel,” he added.
As a follow-up, all ranks within both the Supreme Court and BKN will soon formulate concrete and measurable action steps. The Chief Justice expressed hope that this synergy would serve as a significant milestone in strengthening institutional relations.
“May the synergy we build today become a solid foundation for achieving better governance, particularly in the judicial sector, and serve as an important milestone in strengthening institutional relations,” he concluded.
On the same occasion, the Head of BKN expressed appreciation and gratitude for the realization of the MoU between the two institutions. He hopes that this commitment will support BKN’s efforts in strengthening talent management, as well as the remapping and redistribution of civil servants (ASN), which are currently underway.
“Your Honour, BKN’s efforts require the support of all ranks within the Supreme Court. We are currently strengthening talent management, while also carrying out the remapping and redistribution of civil servants,” he stated.
He noted that many ministries and institutions are currently undergoing expansion or consolidation. Therefore, the redistribution of civil servants has become a necessity to meet human resource demands.
“Many ministries and institutions are expanding, while many regional government organizations are being merged. Those that are expanding require personnel redistribution. Therefore, BKN is actively allocating civil servants according to the needs of ministries and institutions,” he added.
The Head of BKN expressed hope that the signing of this MoU will further encourage the implementation of a merit-based system in civil service management, in line with the directives of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.
“His directive is very clear: meritocracy must be upheld. If violations occur, BKN will impose graduated sanctions,” he emphasized.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Chief Justices for Judicial and Non-Judicial Affairs, the Chamber Chiefs of the Supreme Court, the Deputy Head of BKN, Supreme Court Justices, the Registrar and Secretary of the Supreme Court, the Principal Secretary of BKN, as well as Echelon I and II officials from both institutions.
