THE CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT AND THE CHAIRMAN OF THE ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION STRENGTHEN COOPERATION ON JUDICIAL TRANSPARENCY AND CORRUPTION ERADICATION
Jakarta-PR: The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Prof. Dr. Sunarto, S.H., M.H. welcomed the visit of the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday, 7 May 2025, at the Supreme Court building, Jakarta. The visit is part of ongoing synergy between two institutions to strengthen transparency, accountability and the eradication of corruption in law enforcement.
During the meeting, the Chief Justice was accompanied by the Vice Chief Justice for Non-Judicial Matters, as well as Chairmen of Criminal, Supervision, and Development Chambers. Besides, the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission accompanied by the Vice Chairman and the Director of Institutional Network Development (PJKAKI).
This meeting resulted in several important agreements to strengthen collaboration between the Supreme Court and the Anti-Corruption Commission. One of the agreements included creating joint agenda to enhance court transparency and accountability, especially in corruption cases and other cases that got public interest.
Both institutions also agreed to improve the capacity of the Supreme Court’s Supervision Board in analyzing Public Official Asset Declaration (LHKPN), as well as in assessing judges and judicial personnel. The result of analysing and assessing will be used to inform promotion and transfer decision.
The Supreme Court and the Anti-Corruption Commission are committed to strengthen each other in building institutional integrity, gaining public trust in the judiciary, and supporting a clean and transparent law enforcement system. (PR/translated by azh/Reviewed by RS)
