CHIEF JUSTICE SYARIFUDDIN INAUGURATES CHIEF JUDGE OF HIGH MILITARY 1 MEDAN
Jakarta – Public Relations: Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Dr. H. M. Syarifuddin, S.H., M.H. inaugurates Chief Judge of High Military 1 Medan Kolonel Sus Reki Irene Lumme, SH., MH, on Wednesday,18/11/2020 at Kusumahatmadja room, the Supreme Court building, Jakarta.
In the inauguration, Sus Reki swears in front of the Chief Justice that she will do her job as well as and as fair as. “In the name of God, I swear that I will completely do to the best of my capabilities and in the fairest way possible as Chief Judge of High Military 1 Medan, to uphold the Constitution by all means and to execute all laws and regulations as straightforwardly as 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and to dedicate to the service of the Nation and the People,” she swears.
Syarifuddin says in his remarks that the assignment leader position in the judiciary is a must in the organization cycle, this assignment performed by strict, transparency, and accountable selection, then Sus Reki appointment to place the Chief Judge of High Military 1 Medan not only as a blessing from God, the Almighty that must be thankful but also as a mandate that must be carried with a full sense of responsibility.
At the same time, Syarifuddin says that the next challenge to the judiciary will be more difficult, it lines with the progress of the times that continues to move faster. “I hope you can become a smart leader in managing and activating institution, and also can support to realize Noble Judiciary,” Syarifuddin hopes.
Besides, He quotes American Pastor John Calvin Maxwell who said “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” This quote, according to Syarifuddin contains messages that a leader must know what he/she will do, know how the way to do it, and he/she must be able to support the other person to do it.
Furthermore, Syarifuddin advises all chief Judges to be more sensitive on every report and complaint of a violation of discipline and code of ethics which could potentially damage the honor and reputation of the judiciary. “We have gone a long way forward, so that we don't want what we have achieved, with all our hard work and sacrifice, to be damaged by a handful of irresponsible people,” He says.
