THE HON. SUNARTO TAKES OATH OF OFFICE AS NON-JUDICIAL DEPUTY CHIEF JUSTICE
The Honorable Justice Dr. Sunarto, SH., M. Hum. took the oath of office as Deputy Chief Justice for Non-Judicial Affairs before the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo at the State Palace on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018. The oath indicates that The Hon. Sunarto has officially served as Deputy Chief Justice for Non-Judicial Affairs for the period of 2018-2022, based on Presidential Decree No. 96/P Year 2018 dated May 18th, 2018.
The Hon. Sunarto was elected through a plenary session specially held for the election of the Deputy Chief Justice for Non-Judicial Affairs on Thursday, April 26th, 2018th. The election was opened by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, The Hon. Prof. Dr. Ir. DR. Hatta Ali and followed by all the Supreme Court Justices. The Hon. Sunarto replaces The Hon. Suwardi who has retired on June 1st, 2017.
The Hon. Sunarto started his career as a judge at Merauke District Court in 1987 and his last position before being elected as Deputy Chief Justice for Non-Judicial Affairs was the Chairman of the Supervisory Chamber. In his oath, the figure whose principle, "turning the fatigue into reward" vows will carry out his duties and obligations with full responsibility to the constitution and state policy.
The oath taking event was also attended by Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Chairman of The House Representative, Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, Chairman of DPD, Supreme Court Justices, Ministers and other invitees. [Mohammad Noor]
